Financial Literacy for High School Students
A course designed to teach students to focus on the long term benefits of saving instead of the short term thrill of spending in real terms that students can relate to. This course also teaches the basics of investing, how to guarantee your investments and such pertinent issues such as whether to buy, lease or finance a car. Taught at the Honors Level as well as at centers for at-risk youth, the curriculum received the review and approval of the Broward County Public Schools Superintendent’s Screening Committee and also emphasizes the real benefits of staying in school and avoiding crime and substance abuse.

Your Guide to Homeownership
Homeownership is financially responsible and sets you on a proper financial course. Still, homeownership can be a task, even for the experienced buyer. This seminar will teach prospective buyers the basics of buying a home from the importance of inspections and comparable checks to how to understand a mortgage estimate. Foreclosures have recently become a growing problem throughout the nation. A New Horizon has undertaken several initiatives to combat this trend and prevent many foreclosures from taking place.
